        Dunhuang, with a population of over 100,000, situated in Gansu Province, a semi arid region, was once an important caravan stop of the Silk Road. It is one of the great centers of ancient art of Buddhist origin in China & boasts one of the world’s biggest art treasures Mogao Grottoes.
